I had taken a new airtel broadband connection. The wifimodem is a binatone modem 150 mbps ADSL 2+. The modem comes with a WPA 2Enterprise security which requires each device to be “tied” to the routerthrough a customized login/password for each device.

I had also purchased agoogle chromecast device some time back. For some reason I was not able toconnect google chromecast to my home wifi set up. To my mind, this washappening primarily due to the WPA 2 Enterprise security provided in therouter.
The router is locked by airtel, in the sense that you cannot go andchange the security settings. I was getting the error message “error whileconnecting chromecast to wifi – pls check wifi settings”. The security setting that will work withgoogle chromecast is WPA – PSK setting (pre-shared key setting) which does notrequire each device to be tied onto the router through a login/password. Therecould be other security settings which work with google chromecast, but thiswas the one I was sure of as I was using google chromecast with another routerprior to purchasing the airtel broadband plan. So how do I go about changingthe security settings of the router?
